Solent Rib Charter works with a number of NATO navies providing Ribs for naval exercises. Most training exercises involve multiple Ribs ‘attacking’ warships both as bespoke training events for individual ships as well as participation in annual Joint Warrior NATO exercises.

Commercial Rib Charter

Radar trials

SRC has built significant expertise in specialist trials for both military and civilian developers of radar systems. The company has been involved for some years with testing land based radar systems as well as those fitted to military helicopters and surface ships. Customers include BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin.

These naval exercises have been developed around changing threat profiles, and according to the feedback, are proving invaluable to naval warfare officers preparing for deployment to higher risk areas.

Deployment

Most exercises take part either off Plymouth or more typically around the Western Isles of Scotland. A typical deployment would be 24 Ribs which is further evidence of our ability to regulary and reliably deploy large numbers of boats over significant distances.

Training

Solent Rib Charter provided boats to the Royal Navy small boats training centre at HMS Jupiter in Devon prior to the Olympic Games in 2012. The Royal Navy needed short term fleet expansion to train large numbers of personnel for deployment on 42 Ribs also provided by Solent Rib Charter during the Olympics.
