Why Southampton

Centre of the Solent

A great departure point for Rib Charter or Bareboat Rib Charter (without a skipper), Southampton is at the centre of the Solent giving easy access to all of the most popular destinations including Cowes, Portsmouth and the Hamble.

At a glance

Sheltered water

Southampton lies at the end of Southampton Water which provides a large span of open water enjoying shelter from the prevailing westerly wind. Although not attractive in any conventional sense, the docks, oil refinery and industry do provide a very interesting backdrop.

Maritime events

Southampton vies with Portsmouth to host major maritime events. The last Clipper around the world race departed with much fanfare from Southampton with an aircraft carrier escort. We had several Ribs taking part in the festivities.

Location

There is insufficient demand to warrant a permanent presence for us in Southampton however we run a flat pricing structure so it costs no more to operate a Rib hire from Southampton if desired. Typically we operate from Ocean Village or Town Quay marina. Please enquire for bareboat delivery costs.
