We all love the hustle and bustle of the Solent, watching the countless sails and motorboats cruising around you but there is something to be said about a quiet day on the water. Peaceful anchorages, not having to worry about finding moorings in your favourite marinas and easy to navigate waterways all facilitate the perfect day on the water.
Although winter can bring in some unfavourable weather, you can still often find sunshine and low winds, making for a crisp and enjoyable day. These are the best days to take your time to explore the beauty of the Solent or neighbouring Jurassic Coast without getting freezing cold.
You’ll also find it much easier to get a table at your preferred lunch stop, perfect for breaking your day up to warm yourselves up a bit if the weather is colder!
