As we move further into the autumn months and slowly work our way to winter, most of our clients put boating out of their minds till warmer days return. However there is much to be said for a day out on the water in autumn or even winter, you may have to add a few extra layers on to stay warm but it’s worth it and here’s three good reasons why…
It’s quieter
This one is probably the most obvious but it’s substantially quieter out on the water. The benefits to this are that you’re able to explore different areas without the hustle and bustle of other boaters around you.
Head over to popular anchorages such as Totland Bay or Newtown Creek and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
No need to worry about rafting up alongside several boats when making a lunch stop in Yarmouth or Cowes which eliminates the stress of having to check on your boat and allows you to fully enjoy your time ashore.
Still crisp days
Choosing the right day is vital, a strong breeze can tip the cold weather into becoming unbearable. Choose a calm day out on the water and you end up with sunshine and crisp air that just catches your breath, stop at Yarmouth and dive into one of the local venues to warm yourselves by an open fire with a hot drink. Very autumnal!
