This month, we’re saying goodbye (for now) to one of our own. Harlee Hackney is heading to Australia for a year of travel, and everyone here wishes him the very best of luck.
Harlee has been part of the team; since his work experience as a whipper snapper and has grown into a valued member of the team. In the time he’s been with us Harlee has developed in more ways than most. Let’s start with his biceps, hard to avoid with the sleeves cut off his T shirts! Someone will need to take over organising the yearly football sweepstake and try to match his cheesecake making skills. Harlee, you will be missed, so here’s a little poem to send you on your way.
Harlee’s off to Australia, a whole year away,
So we thought we’d send him off in a poetic way.
He’s packed his best outfits, and what a collection,
The man has style, and we’ll miss the inspection.
He’s so laid-back, he’s practically flat,
A horizontal hero, and we’re fine with that.
No rush, no flap, no panic, no fuss,
Just calm in the chaos, and never a cuss.
So, here’s to the beaches, the sun and the sea,
The roads and the sights, and the wide-open free.
May the waves be kind and the weather be fine,
And may every day feel like you’re running on time.
(Though we doubt you’ll be hurrying, that’s not your style,
You’ll take it all slowly, and do it with a smile.)
We’ll miss you, dear Harlee, so keep in touch,
Send photos and stories, we’ll love them so much.
And when the year’s up and you’re heading back through,
The Solent will be waiting, and so will we, too.
From all of us here: safe travels, good luck,
And have a brilliant year.
