The nights are drawing in and the temperature has noticeably dropped over the past couple of weeks, yet there’s still plenty of opportunity to charter this year. We operate year-round, boating is not just reserved for the summer months, crisp autumn/winter days on the Solent can bring just as much pleasure.
There are important differences, the colder temperatures being the most obvious, so preparation is key to a successful day out. Swap the sun cream and swim shorts for additional layers and wet weather gear, it may sound unappealing to some, but we promise you it’s worth it.
As you head out of Lymington River, you will quickly notice that the usual ‘bee hive’ of activity has disappeared and what remains is peaceful empty waters. It’s a welcoming contrast, when stopping into popular destinations such as Yarmouth, without having to raft out several boats, or manoeuvre around busy anchorages, such as Newtown Creek.
There’s something very satisfying to being properly wrapped up and blasting your way across the Solent, then diving into your favourite waterside venue to warm up with some food or a hot drink.
If you’ve organised one of our corporate Treasure Hunt days, the winter avoids having to weave through crowds of people as you compete to score points. Less people crowding your path means more points!
These are just some of the benefits to boating later in the year, If you’re interested in chartering this autumn/ winter then please give our team a call on 01590 607101 to discuss your requirements.
